The Moon was all we had

Part of my Chuukese series...this is a series that has been going for almost a year. 

Based on the stories of my mother and her mother and her mother.

This is the latest one.

Ma and I were driving to madison, her stories are usually of life back home and of a culture long gone.

she was reminiscing of nights in Chuuk when the moon was full, canoeing to another island to go to church, or go fishing, listening to hushed voices over water. 

no electricity, no lamps, she just described it as "the moon was all we had"
